The Cloister is a cluster of buildings dating from 1732 when a Protestant communal society was founded by Conrad Beissel, a German Pietist. The Cloisters date back to the time of the American Revolutionary War. Costumed guides direct visitors through the buildings, which illustrate the austere simplicity of these people's unique lifestyle. Call for schedule and hours.
